Which Types of Instagram Accounts Get Reels?

As many of you may know, early in August, Instagram unveiled a new exciting feature: Reels. Reels operates similarly to TikTok, but that’s no reason not to give it a shot! When it first was released in November of 2019, Reels was only available in a few select countries. Now, as it’s made its way to the U.S., I’ve created a course, Reels For Beginners, to help you navigate the ins and outs of Reels. One popular question that has been floating around is “which types of Instagram accounts get Reels?”. In this post, and even more comprehensively in  Reels For Beginners, I’m here to help answer that question.    Is Reels only for verified accounts? Or is it available to the general public too? I hate to say it, but the answer is both. Because Instagram operates by slowly introducing their new updates to a portion of these users at a time, there’s no guarantee that being a certain type of Instagram account will grant you access to Reels.    But is this forever? Of course not! Reels may not be available to you yet, or you may just need to update Instagram in the App Store or Google Play Store. But some users have experiences issues with Reels not showing up on Instagram at all. If you’ve had this issue, try refreshing the app and checking your Explore page first. This is where you should be able to view Reels from other creators. If this still doesn’t work, then there’s a possibility that Reels is simply not available for your account yet. But don’t fret! For most Instagram updates, it takes a while for the new features to become available for all users.   Got any more burning questions? Well I’ve got the answers! For a limited time only, I’m offering a deal for my Reels For Beginners, so don’t miss out!
