TikTok is still taking over the industry even in 2023!
This is the fifth part of our 10-part series where we are talking about the 10 things every entrepreneur needs to do this year here in 2023.
You know that I have been talking to you about why it is so important to start using the TikTok platform.
I’m not saying that you should use TikTok only, like not YouTube or not Facebook.
That’s not what I’m saying!
What I’m saying is that with your marketing strategy, you should have a TikTok marketing strategy, especially in 2023.
Now, I know that you’re not surprised by me saying that because I teach TikTok as a business.
But you know I’m saying this from an unbiased standpoint because we all know that in 2020, a lot of us jumped onto the TikTok platform as a way to escape reality because of Coronavirus, better known as Covid 19.
And so that’s why we all got there.
But I got there because God told me to be there and that is what it was gonna do for my life, and what it was gonna do for my business.
And fast forward, we’ve made a million dollars since then.
I had a client of ours in 2022, make over a million dollars in her business.
So she did it a lot faster than we did because we were able to give her the game plan of what we needed and what we did to grow our business.
And so one of the reasons why you need to be using TikTok in 2023 is because number one, it ain’t going anywhere.
It just isn’t.
Every social media platform looks like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest.
They all look like TikTok.
And so the reason why that is so important is that if everybody is investing millions of dollars to change their platforms to mirror what is happening on TikTok, then it’s telling you a story.
It’s telling you the behavior of the consumer.
Because when we use social media to market our businesses, we know that they have a captive audience based on data behaviors and all the things.
And so if everyone is saying and changing their platforms to mirror what it looks like on TikTok, then the data is showing what people are interested in, and how people are consuming content on social media.
This is not about the cat and dog videos. This is not about the funny, goofy stuff or the dance that you’ve seen going viral.
This is about the data and what the data is saying is that people are spending their time being entertained by TikTok-like videos.
Every platform is taking its cues from the TikTok platform.
Now, I know there are a lot of words on the street that like TikTok isn’t doing as great as YouTube because they’re doing, the revenue share the way that they’re doing it with shorts and YouTube, which is awesome!
But TikTok is not dumb because, at the end of 2022, they announced their revenue share platform, which is called TikTok Pulse.
Well, people are gonna stay on YouTube and on Instagram.
They’re not gonna stay on TikTok.
That’s not the case because people want what they want, how they want it.
Now granted, we wanna get paid, so we’re gonna put content out there so that we get paid.
But the data is telling us something very specific.
The data is telling us that people are spending more time on TikTok than on any other social media platform, including YouTube and Google, and including on Netflix streaming services.
That does not mean don’t post anywhere else.
It does mean that if the data is saying that people are skewing to spend most of their time on TikTok, then we as business people, need to have a marketing strategy to post content there.
Now that could be that you’re creating a short-form video and you are in camera roll, and then you’re uploading it to shorts on YouTube, Reels as well as on TikTok.
That’s a great strategy!
Or you’re creating a TikTok video, removing the watermark, and repurposing it.
That’s a great strategy as well.
But you do need to have a strategy, period.
If you don’t have one, you need to get one.
And then you also need to learn how to use the platform.
I don’t know if you guys know this, but we have a very, very basic how-to TikTok course that we created for people that say, I have a business, I have a social media team.
I just need you to tell us “how to create on TikTok?” and that’s it!

So again, for this year, 2023, one thing you need to know and be doing is you need to have a TikTok strategy.
