How to use TikTok Trends for your Business

Are you getting started on TikTok and you’re trying to figure out how in the world you use trends for your business?

Or maybe you’re thinking what can a trend do for my business?

If any of these sounds like you, then this blog is definitely for you. In here, I will teach how trends can help you generate more leads and make more money.

First let’s solve the mystery of what is a trend?

Simply, a trend is something that is popular at a certain moment in time.

It could be a dance, it could be a saying, it could be a way of doing something, but it’s just something that is contagious enough to make a lot of people imitate it.

Now it’s really important to understand this about TikTok. You don’t have to necessarily dance or be goofy…

But TikTok does have a culture. If you spent at least 15 minutes on the app, you would understand that there is a culture to it.

If you are already familiar with the platform you must know that audios play a big role in trends, so you might be asking yourself, “How do they take this audio from this topic and then convert it into a trend ?”

Trends are not set by TikTok, it’s not like they say “Everybody, go and do this!

What happens is that someone typically does something on the platform.

They bring an audio or they say something or they do say something while they’re doing something. And then someone just picks up on it and uses it as a subject for their videos.

And as more and more people start doing it, people become curious to try it on their own!

So how is it that you can use something like that for your business? Here’s the thing to understand.

It’s not going to be normal for you to do this:

So when you’re first looking at these trends, it’s going to feel a bit confusing. You’re not going to see how in the world they were able to take that and do that. Right?

But if you focus on it and you make it very intentional with you trying to do it on a regular basis, then it’s going to come easier to you.

Here’s the deal…

There is this sound on Tik Tok that everybody know that has been there for a while and it says:

Oh, no.Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

Are you also hearing in your mind while you read this?

And so when you hear that sound or you see the videos with that sound, the culture of the TikTok platform knows something bad is going to happen, right?

You are doing something. And then it was like, Oh no. And then this happened. Like… you were getting ready to have a drink of something and you set your glass down and then you looked and then.

Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. You actually dropped the glass on the floor.

If you think about it, this video can be a great promo for a brand  that sells unbreakable glassware, right?

I would take that same concept, but I would say, okay, what is it that happened to me in my business that my customer that I’m trying to target to get in front of me can relate to? If done right you can get in front of a lot of people.

You have to think through scenarios where your audience could understand, right? For example, think of a relatable situation for everyone, like someone dropping their phone, and you own a case company. You could make a video saying:

“You’re about to take the perfect picture. And then all of a sudden, your phone just slips out of your hand and falls on the ground.”

The sound of “Oh no, oh no, no, no” would play as the phone falls to the ground in slo-mo. And then you could say, “But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.” And then you show your product.

Another scenario:  I could actually be where I’m acting like I’m typing on the computer. And I hit send, and then I go, oh, no, oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. And I’m like, Oh, no. And then my text on screen says, When I send an email to 20,000 people with the wrong link. Right?

The average person that has that email marketing understands sending the wrong email with the wrong way or broken link or without a link at all.

My point is that the right mixing of a sound, a movement, a song or whatever the trend is can become an opportunity to get in front of an audience that’s much bigger than just your normal reach.

That’s why it’s so important for you to learn the culture of the platform, because to take a random sound and use it as a tool to actually get sales would seem crazy to a person that doesn’t understand short form video or doesn’t understand what’s happening on TikTok, but once just been in that time or the platform is going to become very easy for you to take a scenario and turn it for business.

But what happens if you can’t seem to find the right trend or a having a blockage on how to use it to your advantage

What you can do is you can actually go to people’s accounts on TikTok that are business people and you can look at different trends that they are using to promote their product or service.

And it’s going to help train your wheels, right?

Because if you’re trying to go from this way of thinking to this way, then more than likely you’re going to need some type of guide to help you.

When I started I would have loved to know all that I know now, and thinking of that, Keenya from a few years ago took me to build a course so you can avoid all the mistakes that I made, get guidance on what works and how to use it to your advantage.
