Now before we continue on, let’s make something clear…

You can have a personal account and have success with your business on TikTok…

You don’t necessarily have to have a business account, but let’s talk about it.

First, let’s go a little bit deeper on each one…

PERSONAL ACCOUNT

So on a personal account/creator, you are able to create content, have all the music , effects, filters , duets and more, pretty much all that TikTok has to offer except for a few things…

One of them is that you do not get access to a clickable link in your bio until or go live until you hit 1000 followers.

BUSINESS ACCOUNT

On the other end with the business account, you get that clickable link as soon as you set up the account, you still can’t go live unless you have at least 1000 followers but you also can’t use the trending audios or the copyrighted music because of the copyrights laws.

So if you are someone, you have a business and you want to be able to use the trending audios, the copyrighted music, now you need to have a personal account.

Now, I know that the thing is like, well… how do I get people to get to a link, right?

Ok, let’s go back into it.

Now, if you are old school on TikTok, then you know that used to be three different types of accounts on the app:

  • Personal account
  • Creator account
  • Business account.

But as of 2022, the number has reduced  to two, there is a personal/ creator account, same thing. And then there is a business account.

Well, when I first got started on TikTok and I didn’t have a clickable link, honestly, I was driving everybody to my Instagram page, actually telling them to visit my profile there.

And actually, I had no problem getting people to go to Instagram to get the thing that they wanted from me because they wanted it, right?

They wanted my content, and so they were willing to do that little   bit of work to get to where they wanted to be.

As you can see, that’s just kind of a workaround if you want to have a personal account but you still want to get people to see your website or whatever it is that you’re promoting.

Now, switching again… one of the other benefits is that they have a couple of different personal business accounts, for example one of my friends has on his TikTok account with a business account is that when he does a TikTok live stream, he can put clickable links in his live stream.

Also, if you have a business account on Tik Tok, you are allowed to do what’s called spark ads, let me explain what they are using an example

Let’s just say that you are a business and you hired me as an influencer to create a piece of content, right?

Well, if you have a business account, what happens is that if I take that video and I post it on my page, I can turn on an ad authorization.

And when I turn it on, it’s going to give me a code. And then I in turn will give you that code. And now you are able to run that video as an ad on TikTok and that’s linking back to your page.

So what happens is that it will show me as the influencer, but it’s linking back to your page, but there’s the chance that if you run videos on your account and you want to say, Oh, I want to run it as an ad, well, you could take that same code and you can run that as an ad.

What happens if you’re not focused on that right now and you really just care about being able to create content using the copywriting sounds and audios? Then you should go with a personal account and then switch to a business account when you want to.

As for me personally, right now I have a personal account and I’ve had a personal account since I started on TikTok, in fact if you check my profile you will notice that I am all about trending audios and I have been able to run my business by using a personal account.

So there you have it, all you must know to make the perfect  decision for you  and your business on which account to use on TikTok.
