How to get more views on TikTok

Earlier in the Tiktok platform, I learned that creating content was one thing; having more people see and engage with your content was another. So, I dug deeper into the culture of the Tiktok platform, its algorithm and I’ve discovered hacks that I am delighted to share with you…

5 Tiktok hacks that helped me get more views

1. Engage to similar content creators

Engaging with content creators in your niche is one big step in the right direction because you have the chance to introduce your content to your target audience.

  • Dump the competitor mentality: On TikTok, Your fellow niche creator is not a hostile competitor, even though you may be tempted to think of them like that. Instead, I saw them as my next open opportunity to meet my audience, so I hopped on their profile and engaged with their videos.
  • Leave a valuable comment(s): How? I left a helpful comment, more likely contributed from my wealth of experience, and you know what that did? Those interactions drew tons of audiences my way. So, the next time I made a similar video, I basked in a beehive of engagement, and every post I made had other creators engaging and sharing as well. What does that tell you? We all win because we all engage with each other; the best part is, the algorithm favored us.
  • The algorithm also sees, hears, and helps: Yes, the Tiktok algorithm waves the “viral wane” when the engagement is massive, which is what every content creator wants. Be sure you first learn to reach out to your niche’s top creators. Then, after interacting with their content, feel free to send DMs to get their attention to your profile.

2. Take it out on hashtags; the algorithm loves them.

Hashtags signify trends! I never post content without adding relevant hashtags because that is how the Tiktok algorithm identifies my video’s content and brings my audiences to me.

  • Hashtags help with search results: The algorithm will push users my way when they go searching for the exact or related content.
  • The longer the trend, the more views you get: When many people use hashtags, they stay longer on the Tiktok space and draw more audience to your content, so adding them is gainful.
  • You can also create a hashtag relatable to a trending topic in your niche or an exciting event. From there, you will have other creators hop on the train, and viral hashtags happen, bringing in more views to your content.

3. Create short videos/content

Naturally, your audience’s attention span is short because so many things compete for their attention, so it helps if you keep things brief.

  • 10-minute isn’t too long: But before the buzz of Tiktok, I was uploading longer videos on Facebook and Youtube and would only post an invite link to them on Tiktok. But at last! Times have changed; with a broad audience on Tiktok, a 10-minute video gave me impressive views. So, I recommend this length for Tiktok content creators, knowing that a 10-minute value-packed video can keep your audience’s attention span. Yes, you will still hear people say, keep your Tiktok videos short and sweet, but I say, if you are teaching/giving value, people will watch to the end. Not just that, they will share, and oh my! Sharing is everything for views.

4. Use trending sounds.

It is not strange to have tons of people looking for videos with a trending sound of the moment. The searches will have the hashtags of the viral sound, and I wouldn’t let anything stop me from getting in on a trend.

Make sure you use a trending sound to go viral and gain more traffic. Similarly, people search the Tiktok bar for the trending video and a trending sound.

The algorithm will also help make that video with the trending sound appear on people’s feeds and give you more views. So, please don’t sleep on trends whenever they happen; record your sound and use the tips I shared

5. Share your content across other social media.

Tiktok is relatively new, and before it came, you probably had a community on your other platforms. Make sure whenever you create high-quality content, maybe a “how-to video,” put up the link on your other social media platforms. Have them head to your TikTok page for views. You can equally share a snippet of the video as a luring strategy on the other platforms and have them racing to your TikTok page.

BONUS TIP:

Be sure you add keywords in captions; the algorithm loves keywords and will send searchers your way for the views. Once you get your traffic up, you can start monetizing your TikTok and increasing your revenue.

Remember, more views happen when the content is valuable, engaging, and attractive.

Increase your TikTok engagement

Increasing TikTok engagement is the best way for every female course creator to expand their reach and get more sales, especially with the ever-increasing content consumption on TikTok.

For business owners, TikTok is the six-figure-making platform where you can make a lot of money by increasing your engagement.

Nothing discourages zeal like not having people hit the like button, comment, or share your videos, let alone purchase your courses.

I have been there, and I know how frustrating it is. But my story changed when I got intentional with some hacks and tips I will be sharing with you shortly.

Five simple hacks I used to get more engagement on Tiktok

1. Post Regularly

This has got to be the first thing any content creator will tell anyone intentional about brand building. Regular posting of your brand or business offerings showcases you as an authority in your niche.

You should be posting at least one or two times daily on your TikTok account if you want to see real results on your profile. What does this do for your engagement? It makes people stick a while and interact with you.

I post multiple times each day, but if you are just starting, it can be hard to do this. So, start with posting once daily. The key is to show up every day and give the people what they want.

2. Interact with your audience.

I can’t overstress how important replying to comments and reactions on your post or videos is. Since we are looking for engagement, we must keep our part of the deal by engaging with our audience.

This not only tells them there is an actual human behind the brand, they feel appreciated, and trust is built, which is vital if you are looking to make sales on your courses. You can interact with your audience by responding to comments with new videos or in the comment section, going live often, and having a more intimate conversation with them.

More so, your responses to audience comments increase the number of engagement and draw the algorithm in your favor. So, it is a win-win strategy to never sleep on.

3. Make use of Q&A.

TikTok is a hub of features, and they keep updating and adding more features to enhance the user experience on the platform.

One of the features I use often is the Q&A, which is a fantastic feature that course creators can take advantage of.

What I do is, after a TikTok video post, I will create a Questions series and have audiences file in their questions either about the recent video or post.

Afterward, I can make another video answering all their questions or respond to individual questions in multiple videos. Either way, I have engaged with my audience and had them respond, which is another win for me.

4.Know your audience

Having good knowledge of your audience will help you interact with and engage them successfully. For example, if you sell courses on a particular subject, your ideal audience would be people who need that knowledge, people trying to get into the industry, and even your competitors.

When I learned who my audiences are, their demographics, and other indices, I revamped my content with relevant information and started creating content that appeals to my audience. This increased my traffic and brought more relevant engagement to my page. Traffic is important, as this is how you make real money from TikTok, and you can get more monetizing tips on this bundle.

Also, with this knowledge, I was able to do deeper research on TikTok to see what top creators in my niche were posting.  What did I do with this information? I recreated similar videos because they resonated with my audience. I mentioned earlier that consistency in promoting your brand is essential to stand out from the clutter. To garner engagement, you must consistently create content that your audience love.

5. Catch in on the duet and collage offerings.

The fun part of TikTok is adding incredible features that enhance the user experience. Some of my favorite ones are the ‘Duet snd stitch’ features, which allow me to trim and add a part of someone else video onto mine as I did here. With these features, you can add and redesign someone else’s video to suit your content.

Having more creators in your video makes a duet chain and draws in more engagement to your content. The longer the duet chain, the more engagement you will have, especially when you use a trending sound.

In addition, commenting on other content creators’ posts increases visibility and draws your target audience to your brand.

Increasing your TikTok engagement requires deliberate steps in consistently promoting your brand and self, as I endeavor to do. As a female course creator, you can take advantage of my Freebie, which contains all the hacks I used to gain over 480k TikTok followers in 2 years!

As a female coach or course creator, an excellent way to make more money is to monetize your TikTok account.

TikTok is a gold mine. And if you optimize your TikTok account by taking the necessary steps, you too can make some money on the social media app.

After merging with the United States musical.ly in august 2018, TikTok quickly reached 1 billion active monthly users in 2022. Your audience is definitely on TikTok, and you have to take advantage of these numbers.

In this article, I’ll be taking you through four practical tips on how you can make your TikTok a source of income in 2022.

 Let’s get right into it.

Offer Consultations

As a course creator, you can offer consultation sessions to the wealth of users on the platform to gain more customers for your business.

Many of your audience may not benefit from the general sessions or webinars you offer. You can capitalize on this and offer one-on-one consultations tailored to cater to their specific issues.

This is a win-win situation because your audience will get more value and also feel more connected to you. It’s a great way to build audience loyalty and trust while making money.

Sell Your Courses

You can sell your courses on TikTok with ease! There are several ways to do this, and the best part about it is that it feels really natural on TikTok! Some of the ways to sell your courses on TikTok are:

  • Link in Bio: add the link to your course in your bio and direct people to click and purchase in your videos
  • Livestream: going live and talking about your course with your audience is a great way to spark their interest and get them to purchase.
  • In the comments: share the link to your course in the comment section of your videos to make it easy for people to click.
  • Add a catchy CTA in your video: a great CTA will attract people to watch your video and push them to click.

You can make all the sales go on the TikTok account. Also, you can decide to direct sales to your website. I talk more about this in this video

Partner with a brand.

Brands are constantly looking for content creators who have organic followers on TikTok. Organic followers interact genuinely with the content creator’s post and are likely to trust the content creator. So if this is you, you might be on your way to monetizing your TikTok account.

A good sign of fake followers on any social media platform is engagement, and brands can always tell. You’ll see an account with, let’s say, 5000 followers but only has a few likes on their content. Such a creator won’t attract any serious brand.

The first thing you should do is contact brands that may be a good fit for the kind of courses or consultations you provide. Although the chances of a response are not always high, it is worth giving a try.

If you have many followers and engagement on your account, it might spark the company’s interest and make them want to partner with you.

Make sure that you’re looking for companies whose products align with the kind of content you create, as your audience can always tell when collaboration is forced and not authentic.

Go live

Going live and speaking about your consultations and courses is an excellent way to monetize your TikTok. What’s more? Your audience can give you virtual gifts that can be converted to money when you go live.

You get to engage your audience closely, answer their questions, and share links to your courses and consultations.

 To get the best out of going live, follow these tips;

  • Post short videos while you’re going live: When you post short videos, users will find a link within the post, making it easier to join the live stream.
  • Use your analytics tab to find the right time to go live. This improves the chances of you having lots of your fans viewing. And if that’s not enough, you should stay online for longer.

Following these practical steps is great, but making a good amount of money on TikTok requires more effort and consistency. You can begin your journey with my Monetize the Tok course to see how I grew my followers and consistently make a living off TikTok.

Remember to stay authentic to your voice, as this makes your content unique and sets you apart from what everyone else is doing. You can take tips and ideas from anywhere, but always tailor your content to match your unique voice.

4 Practical Tips on How to Monetize your TikTok Account 2022

TikTok has become quite popular and is now one of the go-to social media platforms for individuals and business owners. So many businesses have amassed immense success and viral moments on the app, which has translated into a high sales volume.

When I started on TikTok, I was scrolling through videos aimlessly, not realizing the gold mine I was sitting on. I had no idea how my business would fit in and if I could even use the app to promote my brand. I spent time following trends that didn’t align with my brand and couldn’t find my footing on the app.

Today, I have realized TikTok’s potential for business owners and how the platform can help you grow your businesses overnight and gain thousands of followers! (yes, I’ve seen it happen). I have been able to gain over 400k followers and a loyal clientele for my business.

So, to keep you from making the same mistakes I made, here are three things I wish I had known before starting TikTok.

  • I wish I knew I could Build my Business on TikTok.

In the first seven months after joining TikTok, I had no direction. I was doing goofy challenges and just following the crowd. I didn’t understand what was going on on the For You Page (fyp) and didn’t see how other entrepreneurs showcased their products and services.

Due to the fast-paced nature of TikTok, it’s easy to get caught up in the vast array of interesting content and trends that you don’t even realize when someone is trying to sell you something. This app is so perfect for business owners, and I’m still hurt that I didn’t realize this sooner.

  • I wish I knew how to prepare for viral moments.

Most people start on TikTok without a plan of what they would do if they went viral. Maybe some people, like me, didn’t even think they would ever go viral, so there was no course of action in place. As a business owner, virality on any platform, especially TikTok, is a blessing as it means you have millions of eyes on your page, and you must make the most of it.

I had never gone viral before TikTok, so I didn’t know I needed to have Call To Action (CTAs) in my video, and bio and pinning comments in my video were important for lead generation. Imagine the thousands of potential customers I missed out on because I had no idea how to capitalize on viral moments. Don’t make the same mistakes!

  • I wish I had one-time offers for my followers.

I wish I knew the importance of providing one-time offers for my followers. A one-time offer is basically an upselling tactic where you provide an added service or perk to your audience valid for a limited time. It is an excellent way to build brand loyalty and make your audience feel valued.

An example could be offering a 20% discount on a product or service that launches at full price in a few hours or a free consultation for three days. One-time offers create a sense of rush or necessity in your audience and may just be the last push they need to click, especially when they feel like they’re getting a great deal.

TikTok can appear confusing and even scary to newbies, but I promise, it gets easier with time. Now you have all the information on what mistakes to avoid, so you are off to a better start than I was. TikTok can get more eyes on your business in one year than other social media platforms. Why Trends Work For Businesses On TikTok

Do you remember when TikTok was regarded as a platform for Gen-Z and younger millennials to share short, entertaining videos?

That sentiment isn’t so popular anymore as more and more brands realize that TikTok is the hottest marketing tool in 2022. Yes, you read that right.

According to Hubspot Blog research, TikTok is the number one social media app that brands are increasing their investments in for 2022.

So if you’re a business owner looking to grow your business and boost brand awareness, jumping on those TikTok trends might just be your surest bet.

Still not convinced? In this article, I have put together pretty good points on why using TikTok to promote your business can deliver awesome results. Keep reading.

Why Your Business Should Have a TikTok Account

So it is established that TikTok is the hottest thing on the internet right now, not just for social media influencers but also for business owners. But why exactly does your business need a TikTok account? The answer is simple – organic reach and exposure.

There are over 1 billion active users on TikTok, and the app is expected to reach 1.5 billion users by the end of 2022… That is a lot of people.

With the right guidance for TikTok business and actively jumping on TikTok trends, you stand a better chance of getting more organic reach and making more money than on any other social media network.

That’s because, unlike other social networks, TikTok is all about what’s trending. It doesn’t matter when you joined the platform or how many followers you have. Jumping on current trends and creating the right content around these trends can help you reach more people than you could ever imagine.

The more people who see your content, the more people get to know about your business. Every view, like, or comment may not always translate to a paying customer/client, but with the right TikTok marketing strategies, it will put your business out there and spread brand awareness.

Why Following TikTok Trends is Good for Business

TikTok is all about trends, and the algorithm is designed to give exposure by pushing trending content. These trends could be songs, sounds, hashtags, challenges, effects, or whatever else is blowing up.

Now, it goes without saying that if you want your content to reach many users on the app, you should jump on the trends.

Joining a trend will make your content more relevant and give your business more exposure to ensure that your marketing efforts achieve better results.

Here are a few reasons why you should follow TikTok trends

  • It gives your brand a personality

Unlike other social media platforms where brands are expected to maintain a certain level of professionalism, that’s not a concern brands on TikTok necessarily have to worry about. This is because TikTok is marketed as a place to embrace your fun and creative side – for individual creators and businesses alike. No one really expects you to take yourself too seriously on the app.

Joining TikTok trends allows brands to show their businesses or products in a fun and interesting light. It allows you to relax and have fun with other TikTok users without the burden of maintaining a professional outlook.

  • Content has no shelf life on TikTok

Another thing with TikTok trends is that there is no shelf life for your content. What does this mean? On platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, you will unlikely see posts that are more than a week old on your timeline. TikTok videos, on the other hand, have a 90-day shelf life.

This means your posts could be three months old and still appearing on the For You (the TikTok feed) page of other users, actively garnering views, likes, comments, shares, and maybe even followers. And here’s the kicker, these users don’t need to be your followers to see your content on their feed.

For example, in this TikTok video, I explain why you should never delete old TikTok videos, even the ones that don’t outrightly perform well.

  • It increases your reach

As I mentioned earlier, the TikTok algorithm pushes content based on trends and interests, so you don’t need to have hundreds of thousands of followers to have an audience. TikTok will simply push your content to people with similar interests, making it easier for brands to get exposure.

  • Your target audience will find you

Also, regardless of how niche your products or business may be, joining trends will help you find your target audience faster than you could possibly imagine.

From moms to book lovers to cosplayers to anime lovers to health and fitness enthusiasts to career coaches, there is a broad range of communities on TikTok with various interests. As long as you stay on those trends and post relevant content, your community will find you.

How to Find Trends on TikTok

Trends are the fastest way to get more exposure on TikTok, but it’s also important to get on those trends early enough while they are still relevant. Here are the best ways to find popular trends on TikTok.

  • Find Trends Around Current Events

Trends are hot topics. What’s the hottest topic on TikTok at the moment? What are other creators and brands talking about? What popular event is currently making the waves? Identify these hot topics or sounds, see how you can tie them to your brand, products, or values, and incorporate them into your content.

  • Check the Discover Page for Trends

Another way to find trends is to check the Discover page – you can access the Discover page by tapping on the compass icon at the bottom of the screen. These trends are curated by TikTok and updated daily. They include popular and trending hashtags, sounds, songs, and effects.

I also share some great trend alerts that you can take advantage of for your posts.

However, it’s pertinent to note that a trend will likely be saturated by the time it makes it to the Discover page.

It’s best to stay updated with up-and-coming trends so you know which ones will bring the most visibility and engagement for your business before they are saturated with videos.

Finding and participating in TikTok trends is not enough – bummer, I know. You have to make them unique to your business if you want to find success. As long as you are on top of the latest TikTok trends, reaching a big target audience and enhancing your social media reach and marketing results are achievable.
